What we ask for when you order a diagnostic exam paper, why we need it, who else touches it, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it. Written to be read, not to be survived.

Who we are
Exam Diagnostics ZA operates mock-exam.co.za and provides diagnostic exam papers to families in South Africa. You can reach us on WhatsApp or on +27 81 519 8641, or by email at jakobus@interflare.co.za.
What we collect
Only what an order needs. Your name, email address and WhatsApp number, because that is where the report goes. Your child’s first name and grade, so the right paper is set. A delivery address only if you ask for a printed copy.

Google Analytics, in your browser
We do not ask for an identity number, a date of birth, a home language or a school name, and we do not buy personal information from anyone.
Your child’s information
The pupil writing the paper is usually a child, so we keep what we hold about them to the minimum: a first name, a grade, and the answer pages they wrote. A parent or guardian places the order and consents on the child’s behalf.
Your child never creates an account. The exam is opened by scanning a code, and that link stops working once the paper has been sent in.
Who else processes it
Three kinds of third party: the payment provider that takes your money, the messaging and email services that deliver the report, and the analytics service that counts page views. None of them is given the information for their own purposes.
Paystack takes the payment on its own hosted checkout. Card details are entered there and are never on this site.
Email and WhatsApp are used to deliver the report and to answer questions.
A courier receives a name and delivery address, and only when you ask for a printed copy.
Google Analytics records page views and site usage in your browser. It is not linked to your order.
Some of these providers process information outside South Africa. Where that happens, POPIA requires an appropriate level of protection in the receiving country or a contract that provides it.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for as long as tax and consumer-protection law requires. The answer pages and the report are kept so that you can ask for a copy again later, and so that a follow-up paper can be built from what the first one found.
You can ask us to delete the answer pages and the report at any time, and we will, unless we are required to keep the order record itself.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses Google Analytics to count page views and to see which pages are read. It sets cookies in your browser. It is not used for advertising and it is not connected to anything you order.
Your browser can block or clear these cookies, and the site works normally without them. The ordering flow also stores a reference to your order in your own browser, so that closing the tab does not lose the papers you have added. That reference contains no personal information.
What you can ask for
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act you may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and object to how we use it. Write to us and we will answer.
A copy of what we hold about you and your child.
A correction, if something is wrong.
Deletion of the answer pages and the report.
An end to any marketing message, which you can also stop by replying to it.
A complaint to the Information Regulator of South Africa if you are not satisfied with our answer.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, payment happens on the provider’s own systems, and an order can only be opened by whoever holds its unguessable link. We do not hold card numbers, so there are none to lose.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version replaces this one on this page and the date at the foot of the page changes with it. Material changes that affect an order already placed will be sent to you directly.
